Vision

The vision of our department is to produce and nurture pharmacists as health care professionals of highest calibre with critical thinking, medication expertise and compassion to improve patient's lives.

Mission

The department of Pharmacy Practice focuses on two areas, Education and Service. Our Educational Mission is to provide student-centred innovative teaching and training programs by experienced faculty and eminent doctors regarding the management of various diseases, and to improve knowledge, skills and competencies of students for promoting rational and quality use of medicines. Our Service Mission is to provide outstanding patient care and guide students for quality patient care services that improve therapeutic outcome through value-based patient care practices and research.

About the Department

The department of Pharmacy Practice is an academic department within Hindu College of Pharmacy. Our approved hospital for imparting training to Pharm.D students is St. Joseph's Hospital located 1 kilometer away from the college within the municipal limits of Guntur.

Dr. Mannava Radhakrishna Murthy, M.D., Physician, Dr. Kam Prasad, M.S., Surgeon, Dr. Annie, M.S., Gynecologist, Dr. Raghava Rao, M.D., Chest Physician, and Dr. Siva Rama Krishna, M.D., Nephrologist are the teaching faculty for our Pharm.D students within the hospital.

The department's director is Sri P. Seetharamaiah, M.Pharm. (Ph.D), who has worked as Chief Pharmacist in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and consultant, Drug & Pharmacy Service of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar (J & K).

The focus of the department of Pharmacy Practice is on creating through Research & Dissemination of New Scientific Knowledge about effective, safe and economical use of medications in the society. Our contribution to research, teaching, service both in Urban & Rural settings have earned us reputation of being leaders in this field.
